Girls' track 2026

The girls’ track team kicked off the season with a great start. The Varsity girls ran their first meet of the season at Humboldt’s indoor track on May 19th. They placed 5th as a team, scoring 72 points. Natalie Johnson carried Algona with a time of 28.18 in the 200 meter dash, placing first. Johnson also placed first in the 60 meter dash with an astonishing time of 8.13. Macy Knapp started her season off well with a second place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:33.21. Johnson says that she's excited to see where the season goes. The field girls also had some amazing finishes with Jada Roberts placing first in high jump with a jump of 5 feet, along with Sienna Fehr placing third with a jump of 4-08 feet. Great job girls with an amazing start to the season! 

The North Iowa indoor meet in Clear Lake was on March 26th. Johnson set a meet record of 7.83 in the 60 meter dash. The 4x200 meter relay girls, Lillian Allie, Bella Fairbanks, Maya Lentz, and Natalie Johnson, got second place with a time of 1:51:92. The girls did an amazing job!

The girls did fantastic at their most recent meet, at home on March 30th. Johnson PR’d and ran a 7.77 60 meter dash. She also placed first and PR’d in the 200 meter dash, running a 26.48. Sienna Fehr placed 4th overall in the 400 meter dash. The girls also placed first in the 4x200, 4x100, and the 4x800. Lentz blew everyone out of the water in long jump, getting first place. 

Next the girls will be outdoors on March 7 at Clear Lake. Make sure to go watch and support the girls as they kick off their outdoor season!
