Starting off spring break, Algona sent Gaje Petersen, Ryan Barglof, and Alyssa Moody to State Special Olympics basketball skills in Iowa City. They all did an amazing job representing Algona. They all qualified for this State event in February. The events they competed in were dribbling, spot shot, and passing.
At this State event, there were athletes from across the state. Petersen earned third place, while Barglof and Moody both earned second place. All three athletes came back with a medal. Barglof said that Special Olympics was fun and he loved everything. He specifically liked placing second.
All athletes had amazing success with their dedication and we are all proud of their hard work and accomplishments. We look forward to seeing their success in the track season in April!
