AHS students who are involved in trapshooting are Nile Owen, Caleb Venteicher, Grant Schutjer, Reid Fett, Noah Wolf, Jacob Lentsch, John Ludwig, Elijah Garrett, Blake Kajewski, Finn Garrett, James Adams, Reese Bormann, Grant Kramer, Harold Reynolds, Jacob Seebecker, Diedrick Schnieders, Walker Eilerts, Graden Ruger, Mason Green, Paul Kissinger, John Collins, Tucker Brunsvold, Ada Kortenber, Gracie Grandgenett, Lauryn Penner, Laura Stohr, Olivia Snider, Hannah Foust, Avery Thompson, Josie Reynolds, Emma Spear, Elizabeth Brinkley, Riley Schechinger, and Hana Perez.
At a trapshooting meet, everyone shoots individually and as a team. They shoot two rounds of 25 for a total of 50. There are five spots in each round, with five shots per spot. 
Trapshooting is a skilful and meticulous art that requires immense focus and concentration. “I have thoroughly enjoyed the four years I have put into it and would encourage others to give it a try,” stated Elijah S. Garrett.
Their first trapshooting meet was Wednesday, April 8th. This was a home meet, which is at Izaak Walton, right across the road from Smith Lake. The winning team at this meet was the Emmetsburg Hot Shots with a team score of 222, followed by the Emmet County Clay Busters and Lake Mills, both with 218s for scores. Hannah Foust placed 3rd with a 41.
The second meet was held at Cylinder on Saturday, April 11. The top Algona Varsity team placed 3rd and consisted of Perez, Schnieders, Owen, Ludwig, and Eilerts. For women's Varsity, Hana Perez placed 2nd overall and in men's JV, Reid Fett placed 3rd.
The next meet is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th, at home, for the Larry Lentz Invite. On Monday, April 20th, they travel to Ventura and they are at Palmer on Wednesday, the 22nd.
