The Algona track teams are continuing on their great seasons. On Tuesday, April 21st, both teams were in Spirit Lake where they came in 2nd, falling only to Spirit Lake. Some highlights from the night include Gavin Weber winning the mile with a time of 4:24. Another Bulldog came in 1st place with Max Nevitt with a shot put throw of 56-5.7. Natalie Johnson came in a time of 12.34 to win the 100m Dash. The girls won the 4x800m Run in 10:13.96
On Thursday through Saturday, April 23-25, the Bulldogs were at the Drake Relays. Some highlights include Natalie Johnson placing 10th in the 100m Dash while setting a new school record with a time of 12.14. The boys’ Distance Medley squad also beat the school record set in 2015 by .99 seconds with a time of 3:28.35. The team included Will Weichert, Tate Garman, Evan Allie, and Gavin Weber. They took 3rd place overall. The final school record broken at Drake was from 50 years ago. Gavin Weber ran the 1600m in a time of 4:14.59 and placed 6th. Tate Garman says, “Drake was a great experience getting to compete and hang out with friends.”
On Monday, the 27th, the girls ran in Humboldt. They finished 1st in the meet with a score of 141. Humboldt came in 2nd with a score of 137. Natalie Johnson won the 200m Dash with a time of 26.80, and Rose Kitzinger placed 2nd in the 400m Dash with a time of 1:04.60. 
On the same night, the boys were in Mason City, where they placed 4th with a score of 120. Tate Garman and Will Weichert came in 1st and 2nd place in the 100m Dash. Garman ran a time of 10.82, and Weichert ran 10.87. Max Nevitt and Will Limbaugh also came in 1st and 2nd place in the Discus. Nevitt threw 161-07, and Limbaugh threw 153-11.
On Tuesday, the 28th, the boys were at Emmetsburg. They came in 1st with a score of 112. Will Weichert won the 100m Dash with a time of 11.63. The boys won the 4x200m Relay with a time of 1:37.44.
Also on the 28th, the girls competed in Forest City and won the meet with a score of 127. Natalie Johnson won the 200m Dash with a time of 25.96. Macy Knapp and Regan Jensen came in 1st and 2nd in the 800m Run with times of 2:22.81 and 2:30.12.
This week, on Thursday, the 30th, the girls were in Mason City.
Next week both teams will be competing on Thursday, May 7th, for their Conference meets. The girls will be in Webster City, and the boys will be in Algona, with both meets starting at 4:30pm.
