Prom 2020

Algona High School will be hosting their annual Prom celebration on April 17th, 2021. The theme for this year’s occasion will be “A Night of a Thousand Lights.” The cost of Prom is $20 per person, with the exception of this year’s seniors. Luckily, last year’s junior parents covered the cost of Prom for each senior this year who wishes to attend.

Due to Covid-19, there are a few alterations to the guidelines of Prom this year. In previous years, a social hour was open to the public. This year, only students and attendees of Prom may go to social hour. This year, each Prom attendee is provided with two tickets for their family or friends to attend the Grand March. Although, additional tickets may be purchased in the high school office.  Masks will also be required at all times, but they can be removed briefly for pictures and the Grand March for attendees only.

AHS Prom night begins with valet parking in front of the PAC from 6:45 pm until 7:45 pm. Social hour lasts from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the commons. The Grand March will follow social hour at 8:00 pm sharp in the gym with the dance lasting until around 12:00 am in the commons. Students are directed to bring bags with casual clothing to change into for After Prom. After Prom will consist of fun games and activities for all students to enjoy until 3:00 am!

Reece Eakins, a senior this year, says he is “thrilled to go to Prom.” Senior class president, Greta Lampe, cheered, “Yay! Prom!” for the occasion.

Algona High School is thrilled to provide this amazing opportunity for juniors and seniors on Prom night, Saturday, April 17th, 2021!
