Trapshooting 2021

With the weather warming up, the Algona trapshooting team has been quite busy with practices and meets. 

On April 10th, the trapshooting team had a home meet at the Izaak Walton League. The Algona High School #1 team won the meet with 208 points. This team consisted of James Burma, Cole Harms, Cohen Reffer, Kyle Simpson, and Nick Christensen. Both Harms and Christensen tied with 43. The Algona High School #2 placed third with 199 points. Members of this squad include Jacob DePue, Nick Hardman, Declan Braun, Carter Casey, and Robert Foster. 

On the 14th, the team had another home meet. Again the Algona High School team #1 won! This time with 210 points. James Burma had a 45, followed by Nick Christensen with 43, Kyle Simpson with 42, Cole Harms with 41, and Cohen Reffer with 39. Algona #3 placed fourth with Robert Foster, Hunter Thilges, Ethan Riggert, Jaden Zwiefel, and Hunter Penton shooting. 

At Ventura, on April 26th, Algona #1 came away with a second place finish, with 224 points. They were right behind Mason City Red, with 231 points. Top shooters were James Burma with 48, Cole Harms with 47, Kyle Simpson and Nick Christensen both with 46, and Cohen Reffer with 37. Algona High School #3 finished fourth, #4 finished fifth, #2 finished sixth, #5 finished 10th, #6 finished 11th, and #7 finished in 17th place. 

On the 28th of April, the team went to Humboldt for a meet. Algona #1 finished in first with 233 points. Top shooter for Algona was Cole Harms with a 48.
