Seth Walker - All State 2021

The Algona High School choir has been busy all year, and they have finally been able to show off all of their talents.

On Tuesday, October 19, the choir held their first concert of the year. The Soprano-Alto Ensemble and the Tenor-Bass Ensemble were featured in the performance, along with the Concert Choir.

The Concert Choir started off the evening with the songs “Festival Sanctus” by John Leavin and “O Love” by Elaine Hagenburg. Following the Concert Choir, the Soprano-Alto Ensemble performed “Lineage” by Andrea Ramsey. Next was the Tenor-Bass Ensemble. They performed “Invictus” by Adam Orban. Finally, to close out the evening, the Concert Choir sang “The Bones,” featuring Zac Lachney on the guitar, and “The Promised Land,” featuring special guest pianist Carter Nath.

Adeline Reynolds, Dane Nygaard, Seth Walker, Ryley Riggert, and Isabelle Gibbs all applied for All State. They submitted an application of an audio recording and All State members are selected from all submitted applications. All did an amazing job. “The audition process was so weird. I’ve never experienced a day like it. Never before have I seen so many people celebrating with such joy while others cry their eyes out,” comments Seth Walker.

Congratulations to Seth on making it into All State! The All State Festival will be held November 18th through the 20th at Iowa State University. The All State concert will be held on the 20th at 7:30 at Hilton Coliseum on ISU’s campus
