FFA State Convention 2022

Seventeen Algona FFA students attended the 94th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference. It was a two day trip for the students. The students traveled to Ames to the Hilton Coliseum on April 10th.  Attendees included: Molly Bormann, Collin Casey, Nick Christensen, Joe Schumacher, Beth Anderson, Logan Lentz, Conner Olmstead, Reid Louwagie, Ace Studer, Ellie Vaske, Allison Casey, Taylor Kelly, Aidan Morris, Lilly Vaske, Lauren Anderson, Chris Dodds, and Morgan Kelly, and Jacob Schutter. 

On day one, the FFA earned the 75th anniversary certificate from the Iowa FFA Association. They also were recognized as a bronze level supporter of the Iowa FFA Foundation. Mrs. Becker received an honorary Iowa FFA degree for her help as a state judge. 

On day two, the Algona FFA chapter was recognized with the National Chapter award.  The Farm Business Management team earned a gold. The team consisted of Molly Bormann, Collin Casey, Nick Christensen, and  Joe Schumacher.  Earning a gold in Team Ag Sales was Beth Anderson, Reid Louwagie, Logan Lentz, and Conner Olmstead. Competing in the freshman Greenhand Quiz was Ace Studer and Ellie Vaske. Reid Louwagie was recognized as a Rising Star. Students receiving their Iowa Degrees include: Allison Casey, Taylor Kelly, Aidan Morris, Lilly Vaske, Molly Bormann, Collin Casey, and Joe Schumacher. 

Algona had two members recognized on stage. First, Ace Studer earned a top ten rating on the Greenhand Quiz. Reid Louwagie was recognized as the North Central District Rising Star. Congratulations to both of these two members for all of their hard work. 

Overall it was a great State conference for the Algona FFA chapter members.
