National History Day is a contest that allows students to research a topic of their choice, centered around a major historical theme. This year’s theme was “Debate and diplomacy in history.” From Algona High School, Faith Huber, Isabelle Gibbs, and Sydney Casey all advanced from Districts to compete at the State level. State was held on Monday, April 25th.
All three did a lot of research going into the competition and all competed in the Senior Paper category. At State, they submitted their papers to a panel of judges. They also had to participate in an interview covering their research. Faith Huber, a junior at AHS, advanced to the finals!
