On Thursday, December 1st, the boys’ wrestling team traveled to Saint Edmond for a triangular against St. Edmond and Webster City. Some highlights of the night include Jacob Zabka, Barrett Morgan, Taevyn Zinnel, and Dane Kitzinger all going 2-0.
The boys had a quick turnaround, as on Friday and Saturday, December 2nd and 3rd, they traveled to Independence for the Cliff Keen Invitational. Here Jacob Zabka placed 4th, Tate Slagle placed 6th, Isaac Wilson placed 7th, Barret Morgan placed 9th, and Colby Jennings placed 11th.
On Tuesday, December 6th, the team hosted a triangular against Iowa Falls and Clear Lake. They beat both teams! They beat Iowa Falls with a score of 78-0 and Clear Lake with a score of 44-28. Against Iowa Falls, individual winners include: Tate Slagle, Ian Fehr, Ashton Moreno, Colby Jennings, Dane Kitzinger, Foster Myhre, Gavin Goche, Hunter Kollash, Cohen Reffer, Thomas Zabka, Jacob Zabka, Isaac Wilson, Barrett Morgan, and Taevyn Zinnel. In the Clear Lake matchups, Colby Jennings won in a technical fall, 22-5, in 5:28, Dane Kitzinger won in a fall in 2:27, Cohen Reffer won in a fall with a time of 4:31, Barrett Morgan won in a fall in 1:58, Tate Slagle won in a 5-3 decision, and Thomas Zabka, Jacob Zabka, and Isaac Wilson all won by forfeit.
On December 10th, they boys traveled to Ogden for a tournament and came away as team champions! Here Jacob Zabka went undefeated, going 4-0, Thomas Zabka went 3-2, Barrett Morgan went 5-0, Cohen Reffer went 4-1, and Tate Sagle went 4-1.
On Thursday, December 15th, they traveled to Humboldt for a quad against Humboldt, Ballard, and Hampton-Dumont-CAL.
Next up, the Bulldogs travel to Waukee Northeast for the Al Garrison Duals on Saturday, December 17th. Then on the 20th, they host Cherokee, Pocahontas Area, and Spirit Lake Park.
