ISASPs- 2023

Students in grades 3-11 take the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress

(ISASP) to measure student achievement. ISASP assessments have also allowed
schools to gather data to better inform our school improvement efforts and meet
student needs.

Students will be taking the ISASP tests the week of April 17 and April 24. ISASP
testing will be delivered to students online and there are no longer time limits.
Middle school students in grades 5-8 will test in Math, Reading and English
Language Arts (ELA) Writing. Students in 5th grade and 8th grade will take a
Science test. The Algona Middle School will test on the following dates:

● April 17, 2023 - ELA & Writing Grades 5 & 8
● April 18, 2023 - ELA & Writing Grades 6 & 7
● April 20, 2023 - Math Grades 5 & 8
● April 21, 2023 - Math Grades 6 & 7
● April 24, 2023 - Reading Grades 5 & 8
● April 25, 2023 - Reading Grades 6 & 7
● April 25, 2023 - Science Grades 5 & 8

Testing on each day will start at 8:15 and end approximately at 10:15. During
testing snacks will be provided to students during each testing session.

At the Algona Middle School we strive to create a high quality testing experience for
each student that is positive and supportive. Please talk with your student about
getting a good night's rest the night before testing, being to school on time, having
their chromebook charged
and always putting forth their best effort! We also ask
that middle school students bring their chromebook chargers to school on
testing dates to ensure chromebooks can be kept charged throughout the testing
days.

Thank you for taking the time to talk with your student regarding the ISASP testing
and encouraging them to do their best. We look forward to working with your
student(s) as we start the new state assessments this week.

Yours in Education,

James Rotert
Algona Middle School Principal
