Happy Billy Day!
National Custodian Appreciation Day is October 2nd. So today, we are celebrating Billy. Our school wouldn't run the way it does without him. We can't thank Billy enough for everything he does not only to keep things running, but also for the children!

Mrs. Goodman introduced her students to a book on RECORD on Friday! They got to learn what a record looks like, how a record player works, and then learn about Johnny Appleseed! They also got to see different sizes of records with a fun record of Halloween songs!

Dear Parent/Guardian(s):
We have rescheduled picture retakes because of homecoming this Friday. Our retake day will be on Tuesday, Sept. 28th and will follow the same format.
For retake day the picture company will be going to one school at a time. They will start at Bertha Godfrey at 8:30, move to Bryant when they are done, and Lucia Wallace will be last. PM students who want or need a retake will need to make arrangements to come at 8:30 am. This will also apply for students who are only there Monday/Thursday.

This month, our school wide theme is our school as a welcoming place where every student feels like he or she belongs. In our morning announcements, we’ll be reminding students to welcome others and act and speak in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. In addition we’ll be reminding students of our school rules.
We’ll also begin teaching the Second Step program, which includes lessons that support these behaviors.
Support your child at home in welcoming others and acting and speaking in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. Please tell your child’s teacher if you have questions about specific ways you can help your child with these behaviors at home.

Bertha Godfrey School Cookie Dough Fund Raiser starts TODAY! Please contact a Bertha Godfrey student or call the school office at 515-295-3586. We use the proceeds to update our playground equipment! Orders are due on September 8th and the product will be delivered September 29th.
