Students skating

Lucia Wallace students have been having a “wheely” good time roller skating during PE.  Mr. Slagle implemented a two week roller skating unit this February.  Each class got to skate a minimum of 5 times.  Roller-skating is a great way to improve heart health, strengthen muscles, and burn calories.  Many of the students had never roller skated before, so this unit was also a great time for a growth mindset.  There were a lot of falls, a lot of laughs, and the students had a lot of fun.
