A story of how ‘TEAMWORK makes the DREAM WORK’

Fourth Grade students at Lucia Wallace spent the first few weeks of school working to build a strong classroom community! They’ve been learning about using a growth mindset & communicating using accountable talk. In the activity featured above, students were asked, “Can you save Fred?” This was a lesson about problem solving & teamwork in order to achieve a common goal. Fred, the gummy worm , was stranded on top of an ‘island’ and each team  was only able to use paperclips and a lifesaver to ‘save Fred’ from drowning at sea. They quickly learned that working together and communicating effectively was what it took to make a team plan and save Fred!
