Congratulations to the 7th Grade Bulldog Football players, parents and Coach Thilges and Coach Kahler on their 6 - 0 undefeated season.

Eleven Algona Middle School cross country runners participated in the state cross country meet in Ankeny this weekend. They had a fantastic meet & had their first team score in at least 5 years! The 8th grade boys finished in 14th overall!

Today at 5:30 at Bertha Godfrey, there will be a dedication ceremony of playground equipment in honor of Cary Buss, ACSD employee who passed away unexpectedly on November 4th last year. Cary began her career in Food Service, then transferred to a role as Teacher Associate at Bryant and Bus Associate with Chuck Stetzel. The former ACSD Food Service staff donated the 2-person bus spring-rider in her memory that was installed by our maintenance staff. Everyone is welcome to attend!

It is a requirement by the State of Iowa that any schools who provide meal services through a Food Service Management Company gather feedback twice per year from students, staff, and parents. Algona Schools contracts food services through Taher, and is required to collect this feedback. The past 3 years we have held traditional meetings, but felt we could reach more families and staff if we instead conducted a quick survey.

The middle school cross country team did their annual cemetery run on Friday. They ran to Algona cemeteries and visited graves of those who they felt may no longer get visitors, and left a penny to show they were visited.
