The Middle School Student Council is organizing Operation Gratitude to support our service members this Christmas. We’re putting together care packages and cards to send overseas.
If you’re able to help, we’re in need of the following supplies:
- Large baggies (for packaging cards and gifts)
- Unused Christmas cards
- Christmas-themed scrapbook paper
Donations can be dropped off at the middle school office by Monday 17th. Thank you for helping us spread some holiday cheer to those serving our country!

In recognition of World Kindness Day on November 13th, we would like to spread a little kindness in our community and support the Kossuth County Pantry and the Bark Food Pantry. We’d like to
collect non-perishable items until November 21 . Some items will go to the Stuff the Trailer event on the 14th and some will be delivered to the bark pantry on the 21st.
Please consider donating to these worthy causes that contribute immensely to our community each and every day.

Huge thanks to Mrs. Will!! October 30th was her last day subbing at AHS after 20 years of substitute teaching (after retiring from her many years of teaching at the elementary level). The years Mrs. Will has poured into education at Algona Community School District is amazing! She has influenced many students and shared her love of education with all! Thanks Mrs. Will!

With the arrival of colder weather, we would like to remind families to ensure that children come to school dressed appropriately for the season. Please make sure your child wears a warm coat, a hat, and gloves or mittens each day. On days with snow, ice, or extremely cold temperatures, boots and snow pants will also be needed for outdoor play.
To help prevent misplaced items, please label all clothing and accessories with your child’s name. We also ask that students bring a pair of shoes in their backpack to wear indoors during the school day.
Thank you for helping us keep all students comfortable, healthy, and ready to learn during the winter months.
