Congratulations! Corver Thompson’s poem, “Once I Met,” has won Honorable Mention in the Grade School Division in the “Kossuth Garden of Poets” poetry competition. Poetry books will be available to purchase from the Algona Public Library for $3.00. The book will include all winning and honorable mention entries as well as other selected poetry. Way to go, Corver!

Students in third grade are using the engineer design process to create a paper house that withstands wind.

The 4th grade students attended workshops from Opera Iowa today. Then the whole elementary attended an opera at the PAC. The performers were very talented, and the students were excellent audience members.

Mrs. Carroll’s class earned PJ day for their next team AR reward. Since it was an indoor recess, students used their creativity to build a fort with their blankets!
