3rd graders are learning about life cycles in science. Today we dissected flowers and labeled their parts. We were so excited to find the stigma, pollen dusters, seeds and even some insect eggs!

Mrs. Schutjer read The Coffee Bean for Kids to each class and talked about how we can be like coffee beans. When life is challenging, we can discover the power inside us to transform our environment by being positive and kind (like a coffee bean changes boiling water to coffee).

Sam Hix received 3rd place in the Iowa Writing Wellspring Project titled, Dad.

Anyelis’s Vazquez Suarez received 1st place in the Iowa Writing Wellspring Project with her story, Tatitas.

Mrs. Carroll’s third grade class participated in the Iowa Writing Project last March. Together, with author Mallory Hellman, the students created a story titled Fishlz, originated by Kellen Bormann. Their fish will receive its name on September 10th in front of Hancher Auditorium

The United States map on the playground got a fresh coat of paint, and it looks fabulous. #RISE #GoBulldogs
