The AHS dance clinic for Lucia Wallace is being moved to tomorrow (Tuesday) at Bertha Godfrey. Same times (3:30-5:00) because of the forecasted weather. Bussing will be provided to get students from LW to BG after school.

Extremely proud of this team! 7 State Qualifiers Combined record at state 16-15 Team finished 15th with 55 points Bulldog fans blew the roof off Wells Fargo! Bringing home 3 medals and hanging some names on the wall!! 113- Jake Zabka 4th place Moved in 4th all on the careers wins list at Algona. 126- Barrett Morgan 8th place Finished his freshman season with 45 win. Second most wins in a season in school history. 138- Tate Slagle 3rd place Set a school record with 47 win this season! The previous is from the twitter that the coaches posted about the week. We also want to add that the team also has the best coaching staff there is including their wives and kids. “We, as a wrestling community, better remember it is more than one individual that makes a winner.” Dan Gable On behalf of the wrestling parents, we would like to acknowledge not only to the great group of coaches we have, but also their wives and kids who take a back seat to our wrestlers during the season. It is the dedication and commitment of so many that allows our boys to chase their dreams and learn so many life lessons along the way. THANK YOU to the coaches for being in the boys corner supporting, guiding and cheering them on through many matches this year and showing them how to work hard and achieve so much on and off the mat. And to the wives and kids we can’t thank you enough for sharing your husband and dad with our boys.

Reminders- School starts at normal time on Wednesday (2/22). AHS & elementaries dismiss at 1:30 and AMS dismisses at 1:45 for teacher PD. Conferences are next week- K-4 can sign up for a time via each school webpage. Also, 8th grade conference sign up is on the AMS webpage.

On February 9th, 66 students from Algona Middle School displayed 54 entries for the 53rd Annual School Science Fair. This is the first year that this event was partially held during the school day, which encouraged significantly more participation. For middle school, there are two different classes- Life Projects and Physical Projects. Students spent the afternoon giving presentations to judges based on their research and findings. After a short break, family and friends were invited to view the projects prior to the awards ceremony. Congratulations to those advancing on to state! Student volunteers from AHS delivered flowers, cookies and cards to nursing homes today for Valentine's Day!

Last week AHS held a pep rally to celebrate the many activities that take place during the winter months, which included Dylan Alt advancing to state swim, the jazz choir receiving a Division I rating and the success of our state speech participants. Lifted from "Algona Schools Vocal & Instrumental Promoters-VIPs" Facebook page- What an amazing 3 days our band students had at 2023 UNI Northern Festival of Bands. From Thursday till Saturday we had four of our students representing Algona along with 70 other Schools with over 327 students from Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota. Lots of practice and many performances they were able to watch. Great time and represented Algona so amazingly. Lots of new friendships were made.
